Hurricane Harvey and Flooding Live Thread
Thanks for visiting our subreddit! As this event is transitioning away from a major tropical weather event and more into an aftermath event and a flooding event, we will be turning off the live thread. We have opened a new thread, a "Harvey aftermath, remnants, and discussion" thread, seen here and stickied on our sub.
We hope we have done a service to many of you, and I am so thankful that we were able to help. Remember that tomorrow we have an AMA with the Capital Weather Gang here from Washington Post.
Here is the new thread:
Addicks currently 108.9 feet.
No damage found yet to the reservoir, but if damage is found, a contractor is available on site for emergencies.
Current Addicks uncontrolled flow is 100 cfs. Expected to go up to 4500 CFS on August 30th.
Heavy releases on Addicks are because of "worry of integrity of structures."
Posted this earlier. This does appear to be exactly what is happening with flow around the reservoir.
Analyzing this video, this is some of the water coming from behind the spillway, flowing down tanner, and South.
Watch Buffalo Bayou in case it rises now that they have cranked up the flow rates.
One of our own users is currently tracking water rise behind the reservoir.

Addick's reservoir gage appears broken.
